The end of all things is near.  Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray.  Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.  Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.  Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.

March 12

The Iowa Tests of Basic Skills  will be given throughout this week.   Prepare your child by helping them have restful evenings with a proper amount of sleep,  healthy meals and snacks to energize the mind, and a peace that they can do their very best as a reflection of their skills.  Please encourage students to take a book to use during off-testing times and to earn Book-It rewards.

This week we are reminded to love those around us whether they respond in kind back to us.  We are to be like Jesus is to us and love others not because they will reward us, but because we are the reflection of Jesus actions in us to others!  Show the love of the LORD in your life to everyone ...always!  Have a great week!

Week of February 27

It is good to welcome in a new week!  This is an open house day at DCS-may we be a blessing to our community!  We have opportunities to serve and welcome others in love.  What a joy to meet others who love the LORD and want to share HIS love with children.  What a Michigan winter...from extremes...prepare for tomorrow and thank God for each new day and the ways that we can live for HIM.  Have a great week all!

Week of February 13

The time spent in chapel enables students to connect with each other and to our God. The challenge word of the day was tangible.  Today we were encouraged to seek a tangible way to connect with our God and others.  We were to pick an item or an object that when observed and noticed we should then spend time in prayer to God for others.  A clasp on a necklace when in contact with  an object hanging on the chain reminds the girls to pray for others.  A chime or a grandfather clock or a specific time on a clock  reminds the hearer/observer to pray on behalf of others.  May we be real and in tangible ways remember to pray for others and look to be a blessing to others because Jesus first loved us!

Valentine's Day cards and celebration sharing will be on Tuesday, February 14.

Week of February 6

What a joy to start a new week in a new month as new creatures in Christ.  Praise the LORD!  Each week provides something new.  Rollerskating tonight with our school and other Christians also lets us explore our physical abilities in speed and balance.  WE are to be examples of Christ's love wherever we go,

Week of January 30

It is wonderful to begin a week with praises for our God and our LORD in chapel.  Psalm 8 reminds us: "O LORD,our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! "  It is great to begin with all the students in full health again.  As we model our lives on the love first shown to us let us show that same love to everyone in our classroom and the DCS family and to all we encounter everyday!  Although the schedules change a little this week, we still marvel at God's creation and HIS wonders around us each day.  Have a great week!
